About

Paul Beck CFP®, FMA, FCSI

Paul has 30 years of financial industry experience including an eight year term with The Canada Revenue Agency.

In October 2012 Paul launched Paul Beck Financial Services which allows him to focus all of his efforts on all aspects of unbiased financial advice and move away from the sale of investment products.

He moved to the investment business in June of 1997 and has worked as an independent financial and investment advisor until October 2012.

Paul is a licensed Life and Benefits Agent and has completed the Mortgage Broker program at Seneca College.

He earned the industry standard Certified Financial Planning designation in 2000 and was selected in 2008 as one of twelve individuals across Canada to participate in writing exam questions for the Financial Planning Standards Councils CFP Exam. In 2006 he achieved the industry standard Financial Management Advisor designation which recognizes a high level of competence in financial planning. Paul proudly accepted the prestigious Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute designation in April 2008. A small numbers of financial professionals are recognized at this level. He also participated in the Financial Divorce Specialist program.

His financial planning philosophy is to simplify the financial planning process by focusing on three key components: reduce taxes, reduce debt and increase investment assets. He takes an all inclusive approach that addresses taxes, debts, investments, insurance and estate planning. He doesn’t tell you what you should do; instead Paul helps you understand your situation so you can create the best possible solution based on your unique circumstances – unique in that we are all different and view things individually. If it has to do with money, Paul can provide you with options.

Paul is a father and husband and spends his out of office time working as a volunteer to make his community a better place in witch to live. In 2006 he was presented with a special award from the Mayor of Hamilton acknowledging his contribution to the community.

Client Comments

As a client, I have always appreciated Paul’s investment knowledge but even more, I appreciate his honesty and interest in the person he is advising. Paul is easy to talk to and he listens before responding.

I also appreciate that he is not out simply to sell anything but Paul is really involved in my individual planning .

Our Community

Whether you are a family, individual, or a member of the business community, it is our belief that we all need to work together to make our lives a better place at work, home, and at play.

There are literally thousands of worthy organizations out there that do wonderful work and make a positive difference. We have chosen to support the following two organizations in which we think make a positive contribution to our community

Hamilton Cancer Assistance Program (CAP)

Today, one in three people are affected by cancer and many of us have family members, friends, neighbours and colleagues who suffer from the disease.  As we all wish to see a cure for cancer, millions of dollars are raised each year for research in finding that cure. CAP provides both transportation services and the loan of equipment to cancer patients and their families to assist them through the treatment period.

We, at Paul Beck Financial Services, pledged our support this year by participating in the Rail Trail Walk September 30th and the Pasta Gala on November 23rd. www.cancerassist.ca

Tim Horton’s Children’s Camp

We have heard it said before that children are our future. Positive childhood experiences improve the likelihood of children being successful later in life.

Tim Horton’s Camps provide underprivileged children “the opportunity to participate in first-class programs and activities designed to increase self-confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills that will benefit them for years to come.” When the kids go to camp, they don’t just go to the nearest camp, they are given the opportunity to travel a great distance and see other parts of Canada and the United Sates.

Having been invited to visit the local camp at St. George, I saw, firsthand, the work this organization does for our children and the smiles it puts on their faces. I believe a week at camp can change a child’s life forever!

To show our support for Tim Horton’s Children’s camps, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from every Income Tax Return we prepare during March and April of 2013. http://www.timhortons.com/us/en/difference/childrens_foundation.html

In the past it has been our privilege to support Toastmasters, McMaster University, Cancer Assistance Program, Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation and the Gilkson Community Soccer Club.
